Kosher beers carry catchy biblical names
Detroit Free Press
What beverage should you take to the rabbi's house? How about He'brew -- The Chosen Beer? That's not a tasteless joke -- and definitely not a tasteless beer.
It's a tasty new California microbrew that founder Jeremy Cowan delivered to us last week on his 40-day-and-40-night promotional tour across America to introduce the product.
He'brew comes in two styles -- Genesis Ale, his "first creation," and Messiah Bold, "the beer you've been waiting for."
Both are certified kosher, of course. Cowan, who never runs out of schtick, named his company Shmaltz Brewing. Malts, shmaltz . . . get it?
It's available or arriving soon at One-Stop Kosher in Southfield, plus Hiller's, Papa Joe's, Merchants and Whole Foods markets. About $8 a six-pack. L'Chaim!
